I thought “what worse time could there possibly be to introduce greater costs for the consumer?” Coming on top of recently announced funding cutbacks to non-profit organizations, I sunk into quite a bitter, blue funk about the cruelty and apparent idiocy of our provincial government. Since then I’ve had some interesting conversations and read a little more about it, and while I am no longer ready to call for mass revolution and recall, I am still not 100% in support. Here are the ups and downs of the HST, as I see it.
